This gentle daily blend is usually prepared as a tincture and combines carminative nervines rich in volatile oils (like Chamomile, Lemon Balm, and Holy Basil) with more grounding bitter nervines (like Skullcap, Motherwort, and again Chamomile). It’s a steady support for nervous tension, without leaving you drowsy.

Since these herbs are also carminatives and bitters, they offer a little digestive support too. If you’re sensitive to Motherwort’s emmenagogue effects, you might swap it for another bitter nervine like Bugleweed (Lycopus virginicus), Blue Vervain (Verbena hastata), or even Hops (Humulus lupulus)—though with Hops, I’d reduce to 10% to keep the formula balanced.

Here we see Reishi shining as the primary remedy in the formula. The lead duo (Hawthorn and Reishi) is primarily geared toward helping to restore, rebuild, and nourish the heart itself.

It’s supported with a strong cardiac nervine pair Motherwort and Linden, which will also support Reishi’s nervine qualities.

So this a formula for helping calm an anxious, nervous heart.

I add in the Yarrow and Horse Chestnut to support circulation, particularly through the veins, and help astringe and tonify the vasculature.

The little bit of Cayenne I add is to stimulate the blood and circulate the whole formula throughout the system, as well as warm up an otherwise cooling formula.
