Meet The Tanner Steffler Foundation šŸ’™
On June 6, 2017, 19-year-old Tanner Steffler tragically lost his life after a battle with substance use disorder. But Tanner was so much more than his illness. He was a bright and handsome young man, an academic student with big dreams, a talented musician, and someone who brought laughter and light to those around him. He loved spending time with friends, adored his bulldog, and was excited about his future—including college acceptances that would lead him toward a career as an X-ray technician.
In the midst of unimaginable grief, Tanner’s parents, John and Heather, began hearing from others—families and youth who shared similar struggles. One message became heartbreakingly clear: our youth deserve better.
Too many stories spoke of barriers—long waitlists, lack of immediate access to care, short-term treatment without follow-up, and young people being passed from one provider to another without real support. Tanner himself tried desperately to get help. He wanted to be well. But the system could not provide the timely, comprehensive care he needed.
Determined to create change, John and Heather founded The Tanner Steffler Foundation in August 2017 with a mission to ensure that no other family has to experience the same loss.
Through advocacy, support, and compassion, The Tanner Steffler Foundation continues to honour Tanner’s life by working toward a future where every young person has access to the care they deserve.

Happy National Doctor’s Day!
Today, we want to share our heartfelt appreciation for Dr. Murray, who is so much more than a physician to us. His kindness, compassion, and genuine care make a difference in the lives of our residents every single day. He takes the time to listen, to connect, and to ensure everyone feels valued and supported.
What makes Dr. Murray truly special is the way he goes above and beyond—whether it’s offering a comforting word, sharing a smile, or even bringing along his guitar for special occasions to fill the room with music and joy. Those moments mean more than words can say.
We are incredibly grateful to have him as part of our community. Thank you, Dr. Murray, for all that you do! šŸŽ¶šŸ’™

šŸ’š Meet Mental Health Matters Wingham šŸ’š
For the past 9 years, Mental Health Matters Wingham has been making a powerful impact right here in our community. Entirely volunteer-run, with no paid staff and no permanent building, this incredible group ensures that every dollar raised goes directly back into supporting mental health initiatives šŸ’«
Thanks to ongoing community support, they have been able to:
✨ Fully fund or subsidize mental health training for 214 individuals through ASIST, Mental Health First Aid, and safeTALK—helping create a more informed and compassionate community
✨ Host meaningful events such as Wellness Day, Movement for Mental Health, End of Summer Fun Day, Speaker Series, A Healthy Dose of Humour, and the George Kellie Colour Run for Mental Health
✨ Offer free workshops and activities including self-care sessions, paint nights, Paint & Plant Nights, and children’s activities at the Lucknow Fall Fair
✨ Support youth through initiatives like the George Kellie Make A Difference Award and Children’s Mental Health Week activities at F.E. Madill Secondary School
✨ Give back through donations to organizations such as CMHA, AMGH, Victim Services, Huron County Health Unit, Movember, and the North Huron Community Food programs
They’ve even created and funded self-care baskets, children’s baskets, holiday baskets, and Movember initiatives—all designed to bring comfort, awareness, and support to those who need it most šŸ’š
From large-scale events to small acts of kindness, Mental Health Matters Wingham continues to break down barriers, reduce stigma, and remind us all that no one has to face mental health challenges alone.
It’s truly inspiring to see what a passionate group of volunteers can accomplish when they come together for a common cause. šŸ’š

Meet Eric Cunliffe – Guest Instructor at Our May 20th Mental Health Night

We’re excited to welcome Eric Cunliffe to Rosewood RVilla’s Night of Mental Health on May 20th!
Born and raised in Kincardine, Eric’s journey into yoga and meditation began at just 13 years old, leading him to study in Buddhist monasteries and yoga training centres around the world. As a 500-hour certified Yoga Teacher trained in the Kripalu and Ta***ic Kashmiri Shaivism traditions, Eric has been teaching since 2011.
With a deep love for movement, mindfulness, and the outdoors, Eric inspires students to take their yoga practice beyond the mat and into daily life. Whether it’s through breath, stillness, or conscious movement, his teachings are rooted in the belief that true wellness is about living with presence, purpose, and peace.
Join us for an evening of inspiration, self-discovery, and mental wellness — and experience the calming, grounding energy that Eric brings to every space he enters.
