Common Sense Defense for Women

Common Sense Defense for Women Teaching a Common Sense approach to women's self-defense—practical, effective, and empowering strategies to stay safe. 💪 LOL. Just kidding.

Recently retired from RCMP after 15 years. Born and raised in PEI. Four sisters and one brother so I got beat up a lot growing up. My Mom is my role model and rock. I have wanted to do this course since I started at Depot and can now put my complete focus and attention in helping women feel more confident and free from worry.

Your daughter said she was on her way home.

But something isn’t right. She’s not home yet.

You open your phone and notice the car is still there. It hasn’t moved.

But she is moving on the screen.

This is the difference something like Life360 or an Apple AirTag can make.

Because sometimes it’s not just about you. It’s about the ones you love.

Not meant to scare. Just awareness and simple ways to add an extra layer of protection.

Not me. Not today. Not ever.

No one is coming to save you.

Attackers wait for the moment you are alone and vulnerable. Not when you are with others.

In that moment, your phone, your camera… none of that is going to save or protect you. You need to know what to do. This is where it matters.

Not me, not today, not ever.

If you’re in the Maritime region and want to learn this in real life, I teach hands-on self-defense and situational awareness for women.

Small classes. Real scenarios. Real skills.

Real women. Real feedback.

“This course is a MUST HAVE for any woman regardless if she has experienced a loss of safety or not.

The best part is the connection between theory and hands on scenario practices. This is where you gain the much needed muscle memory and self confidence in your own abilities. It truly is eye opening how much one doesn’t know about keeping safe and how common sense it can be if one is just taught how to react appropriately. Not to sound like cliché, but this course is life altering by just walking away with more awareness.

Darren goes out of his way to make you comfortable and tailors it to your specific questions and needs. He is extremely knowledgeable and understands how to convey this to make it simple and applicable for everyday life, circumstances and individual abilities.”

Your biggest threat isn’t a stranger.

Most women aren’t hurt by someone they don’t know. It’s someone in their everyday life.

Awareness matters.
Whether you know them or not, you’re still in control.

Ladies, I just want to say thank you. Across all my social media platforms, we’re getting close to 200,000 views on that last series.

That means a lot to me.

The daytime parking lot series is now complete… and I’ve got a lot more coming.

I’ve seen the comments, and I’ll be building on that moving forward.

Take care, stay safe.

This is my last video in the daytime parking lot series.

I always ask the women in my course, what do you do when someone is walking toward you? Some say they look at the face, some say the feet.

People don’t grab you with their face. They don’t grab you with their feet. It’s the hands. That’s where the danger is.

When someone is approaching you, watch the torso, watch the hands, because if those hands start moving toward you, that gives you a split second to react.

Time and distance matter.

If this gave you an aha moment, share it with someone who needs to hear it.

Take care, stay safe.

Not me Not today Not ever!

Key phrase...im just trying to keep women safe.

Do you shop at night?

Simple question, but it matters.

Most incidents don’t happen because someone wasn’t “strong enough”, they happen because the situation caught them off guard.

Time, positioning, awareness, and how you move in those few seconds can make a difference.

Do you change how you shop depending on the time of day, or do you treat it the same?
