ᒪᐢᑭᐦᑭᕀ maskihkiy wellness Cree (y)for medicine, maskihkiy supports holistic wellness through Indigenous and land-based approaches. you are the medicine 💞🌱✨

maskihkiy provides counselling, land-based healing programs, consulting, workshops, & kihtehayak (Elders) services. our kihtehayah (Elder) Wiisug Richard Wright (Leech Lake Anishinaabe) taught us that medicine is anything that helps a person to heal and live a good life. our team uses both traditional and contemporary Indigenous and land-based approaches to holistic wellness to support individuals, families, communities, and organizations in miyo pimâtisiwin (living a good life). we do this through consultation and workshops that incorporate Indigenous pedagogies and experiential learning. each team member brings unique strengths and gifts, including expertise in Indigenous approaches to counselling and trauma work, decolonizing and Indigenizing organizations including strategic planning and program evaluation, reconciliation initiatives and cultural education, and holistic nutrition. maskihkiy wellness is based out of Calgary, Alberta. our team is available to travel both nationally and internationally.

maskihkiy onîsôhkâmakêw, okimawapiw iskwew Lisa, had the honour to attend the Assisted Reproductive Technology Research Report Launch last month in Ottawa.

this research report on assisted reproductive technology, developed in partnership with uOttawa and Survivors Circle for Reproductive Justice, focuses on available options for Indigenous survivors of forced and coerced sterilization in Canada.

this report serves as a guide for our iyiniwak relatives seeking healing. 🪶✨

we are strong, but we don’t have to carry it alone ❤️

iyiniwak have been surviving genocide in North America for over 500 years, and it takes a toll; physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

in today’s episode, we talk about giving energy back to the land and shaking off what isn’t ours to carry.

how do we release what isn’t ours to carry?

just like the deer surviving on the land, we can process our trauma, grief, and emotions by giving them to the land.

catch our next podcast episode with Lisa L’Hirondelle and Dr. Karlee Fellner dropping wednesday, november 5
