Dear community,
It has been one year in the Gregorian calendar since our beloved Aaron (z’l) departed this realm. Sometimes it feels like it’s been an eternity, sometimes no more than a day. Perhaps you’ve found him in your dreams or meditations, on a forest walk, on your yoga mat or the dancefloor. Maybe you catch yourself chuckling about something irreverent knowing he would appreciate the joke, or looking for guidance thinking “what would Aaron do?” and receiving an answer in your heart. It is different for everyone, but universally there is a hole in our lives that only the shape of him can fill.
On this day we’re sharing Aaron’s memorial website, a project he started before his passing. If Aaron touched your life in some way, we would love for you to share your memories, reflections, and photos with us. On Aaron’s yahrzeit (Hebrew calendar death day), there will be a gravestone unveiling ceremony at the Nelson cemetery. You’re welcome to join us on Wednesday, April 10th, at 4pm. If you’d like more info, please email aaronbanfieldmemorial@gmail.com
We continue to be so grateful for all of the care and support we’ve received along this journey of grief and love.
This page is a place for honouring and celebrating the life of our beloved son, brother, nephew, friend, community leader and medicine person. His presence was a gift. His memory will always be a blessing.
