🌞 I recently read Anna Atkin's Sun gardens featuring cyanotype photograms from the 1840's. I have been pouring over her prints of algae, ferns, flowers, feathers and lace and found myself being totally mesmerized by her work. Often cited as the first female photographer, her process included placing various botanical items on cyanatype paper which is sensitive to UV light and captures a imprint of the object. The print exposure can then be processed by washing it in cold water. This simple process remains mostly unchanged since its inception in the 1840s. Check out this horsetail print, isn't it gorgeous ? 😍 have you played with creating cyanotype phorograms before?

Tis the season when the air begins to chill and frost blankets the ground, pulling us closer to the long winter ahead. Plants are shifting their energy back down towards their root systems to survive winter. In this dormancy, they build resilency and seep into some much needed rest. We could all benefit from some rest, couldn't we ? It's time for introspection and conservation! The huntress has been working hard all spring and summer long, and now it's time to relax and enjoy the fruits of her labour. 🧼 When I began to make soap many moons ago, I was driven to keep my footprint low, use recyclable and plastic free materials and sustainable ingredients, without making a compromise to quality and creativity. Over the years, i have strived to make an effort to be a more conscious consumer and choose products that are eco-friendly and user-friendly. One of the swabs I made was to a safety razor, which is plastic free, a hell of a lot cheaper and offers, in my opinion, a far superior shave. It does take some getting used to, though. Another thing I love about a quality bar of soap is the varsility of this one product. Bar soap can make a great shaving medium. It produces a beautiful lather for a slick glide, allowing you to elimate the need for an additional personal care product. Have you tried our soap for shaving?
