Dhumavati, the 'Smoky One', the old crone who lives in the spaces of disappointment, loss, sorrow and grief. She is our companion in these void spaces that seem to hold little direction, yet are ripe and vast with unexpected medicine.
As writes in her Manifesto of Revolutionary Love, See No Stranger, "Grief is the price of Love" --
Loving someone or something, means that one day, there will be grieving. They will leave you, or you will leave them. The more you love, the more you grieve. And so invite yourself to honour your grief: it's a sign of how deeply you have and are able to love.
We will play and explore how we hold, meet and express grief nd thusblove, through our practice tonight at Mystic Flow, as inspired by the old widow, sitting with her empty winnowing basket and Crow, reminding us that even in the shadows, we are not alone!
Asana will focus on opening the upper body, shoulders and chest -- ♡ openers, allowing our body to feel brave with grief.
