Every new mother experiences something different postpartum, but I figured weโ€™d take a moment to cover some of the most frequently asked questionsโ€ฆ

๐Ÿค” Is it too late to rehab my core and pelvic floor after giving birth? No, it is never too late. Of course, youโ€™ll see accelerated results earlier in postpartum. But your body responds to progressive overload whether you gave birth 6 weeks or 16 years ago.

๐Ÿค” Why did my b***y go flat after birth? Is this permanent? This can be a sign of pelvic floor or core dysfunction. Incorporate breathwork to build a healthy foundation

๐Ÿค” Should I wear a waist trainer in my first year postpartum? NO. When you wear a waist trainer it causes pressure on your diaphragm and pelvic floor muscles.

๐Ÿค” Is it common to p*e a little when I jump? Yes, but with the proper strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles, you can rebuild your strength and reduce or eliminate this issue.

Itโ€™s time to prep your pelvic floor.

Your pelvic floor consists of muscles and connective tissues that support important organs in your pelvis. It has many functions including:

1: Supporting your pelvic organs and increasing intraabdominal pressure.

2: Maintaining urinary and f***l continence.

3: Helping to stabilize your core and control the movements of your hips.

4: Supporting sexual health by allowing pe*******on and or**sm.

5: Allowing for better blood and lymph pump for the pelvis.

During pregnancy, your pelvic floor muscles take on an increased workload. Exercising these muscles is an important step to prepare and protect your body for birth. Itโ€™s critical that your pelvic floor is actively contracting during activity that increases pressure (such as jumping, running, and skipping).

By strengthening your pelvic floor muscles before pregnancy, you can reduce your risk of tearing, urinary incontinence, and the severity of diastasis recti postpartum.
