Maddy Days | March 1–5
If you have visited Sapling, you may have noticed a lily of the valley sitting just outside my office door. Without words, it quietly holds space for grief, reflection, and remembrance for anyone who needs it.
In March 2022, my family experienced a profound loss. My sister and her family lost their daughter, Madelyn Lily, after she was diagnosed in utero with Trisomy 18. Sadly, Madelyn passed away before she could be held.
Each year, during the first week of March, we honour her life. These days are now known in our family as Maddy Days.
When I was dreaming up Sapling, I felt a quiet nudge to give back in her name. With my sister's blessing, I chose Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice, whose team offered incredible support to my sister’s family during the hardest moments of their lives.
Last year, Sapling was just beginning, and I quietly made a small donation in Madelyn's name. This year, we are six clinicians with full caseloads and an incredibly supportive community.
From March 1st to 5th, 18% of all session fees will be donated directly to RNCH. Your visit during these days becomes part of that giving.
RNCH is celebrating 20 years of supporting infants, children, and families through unimaginable moments. They have shared that their work is only possible because of the generosity of community members like you.
If you’ve been meaning to book an appointment, this is a beautiful time to do so. All sessions held between March 1st and 5th will support this donation. You can book through our client portal or contact our team by email.
Thank you for being part of our community.
Thank you for helping us honour Madelyn's life and support families when they need it most.
