Hi everyone! We have exciting news!
The Heart Lake Farm team and I, along with Tammera and the one and only Gayle Cartier are excited to invite you to our first ever EAL Facilitator Summit on Vancouver Island this June 6, 2023, from 2 - 8 pm.

All EAL Facilitators certified by Cartier Farms or Dreamwinds are welcome to join us at Heart Lake Farm on Vancouver Island for this fun opportunity to connect. We will learn a new exercise, discuss hot topics of current interest and spend time with the master Gayle Cartier herself. Lots of laughs and learning guaranteed in a beautiful setting near Victoria BC. Dinner provided and there is no cost to join in.

🎶The Choirs YYJ are folks from Victoria, BC who sing original arrangements of pop, folk and indie music. Today, our group has multiplied in size, notoriety, and music-making activities. Collectively, our non-auditioned ensembles, “The Choirs YYJ,” includes over 200 people of all ages, genders, experiences, vocal abilities and musical tastes.

Maybe there is a perfect photo for June 21 after all - this just popped up in my memories. Almost exactly a year ago today, we celebrated Graduation Day following our first EAL program in partnership with Tsawout First Nation. Together we laughed, we cried, we started something so special. How could it only be a year since then? And yet it seems like yesterday (though it was a little warmer then!!). That initial three-month series launched our ongoing weekly Indigenous-focused EAL days and a new therapy with horses program, as well as numerous special workshops, collaborations and friendships.

To all of our Indigenous partners, colleagues, friends and allies, we raise our hands and celebrate you. With respect and humility, we deeply appreciate your trust and openness as we learn how to be in service to you and the land we are so fortunate to spend time on. As guests in W̱SÁNEĆ territory, we are committed to earning our welcome here.

Hello post secondary students,
we still have a few spots left in an upcoming equine-assisted learning (EAL) program. Experience how activities with horses can teach us about ourselves while practicing communication, cooperation, team work and other essential life skills in a new and unique way. This program is suitable for post-secondary students in any field curious about how learning with horses could contribute to their future work and wellbeing, or simply any student in need of something new and different to do over the next few weeks. The program is fully funded so there is no cost to participants.

If you are missing your friends at the farm, we are offering Alumni Days for everybody age 12 and up who previously attended one of our programs or workshops. Was it 2 years ago or 2 months? Doesn't matter! Come by to spend some quality time with the horses and reconnect with these special teachers.
