We’re so excited to welcome Deni Fitzpatrick to the River’s Edge Counselling Centre team!

Deni is a grounded, deeply compassionate therapist. She works with people across the lifespan as they navigate a wide range of experiences — from emotional challenges to moments of change, healing, and growth. This includes support for:

• Anxiety and depression
• Gender and sexual identity exploration
• Grief and loss
• Life transitions and major changes

Deni has a particular interest in supporting blended and stepfamily dynamics - helping individuals navigate new roles, evolving relationships, emotional complexities, and the unique joys and challenges that arise as families come together. Life After Su***de Loss recognizes the stigma and isolation that bereaved family and friends experience post loss. On December 4 they are hosting a free virtual event to offer support and provide a safe space for those navigating grief this holiday season. See the post below for more details 🕊️

Life After Su***de Loss (LASL) is a peer-to-peer event that offers those bereaved due to su***de to join with others in a safe and supportive space to share, learn and further understand how to integrate the su***de loss experience into their lives.

The event this year will be presented virtually on December 4th 2025 to provide support during the holidays, as it can be a challenging time for those grieving.

This is an opportunity for participants to join in community and engage with others with similar shared life experiences, feel less isolation, express their thoughts and feelings without fear of being judged, be less encumbered by stigma, and better understand the grief experience and process.

It's a free event, and you can register on Eventbrite here:

This November 18, on National Grief and Bereavement Day, we pause to reflect, remember, and reach out. A quiet presence, a listening ear—these simple acts can offer deep comfort to someone navigating loss.
