A Calm place

A coping skill to help calm and regulate is to image yourself in a calm place. It can be a real or imagined.

Imagine what you can see, hear, touch and smell there. Practice going to your calm place frequently and it will be easier to use when you need it. A good time to practice is while you are falling asleep. Calm Tides counselling is here to help if you are struggling, reach out to learn more.

A lifelong resident of Charlotte County, Julie continues to live in the St. George area where she is raising her four children with her husband.

Julie has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology. She works as a part-time counsellor at Calm Tides and specializes in supporting those experiencing life changes including loss of a loved one, shifting relationships, and menopause. Julie also provides trauma therapy and works every other Wednesday and Saturdays.

Jenna was born and raised in PEI and moved to Charlotte County in 2013 where she began her career in social work. She lives in the St Andrews area where she is raising her three children with her husband.

Jenna has a Bachelor of Science degree, Bachelor of Social Work degree, and a Master of Social Work degree. She is both basic and advanced trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy and opened Calm Tides Counselling in 2024.

When she is not driving her kids around to their activities, she enjoys reading, yoga and time outdoors with her dog Archie.

In collaboration with the Willow Center, Jenna will be attending a 5-day training November 17th–21st in Fredericton for Counselling Survivors of Sexual Violence.

Calm Tides Counselling will be partnering with Willow Center to help provide barrier-free access to counselling for survivors of sexual violence here in Charlotte County.
