Screening is important as cancers are easier to treat and less likely to spread when detected early. The Canadian Cancer Society recommends that between the ages of 40 and 74, women, both cis and trans, as well as non-binary and gender-diverse people with breast tissue, should be screened for breast cancer every two years.
