Focus 2026 - Women's Health!

Each year, the St. Joseph’s Women’s Health Centre performs more than 12,000 breast imaging and diagnostic procedures, including mammography, ultrasound, and biopsies.

Our current breast ultrasound is 10 years old; replacing it ensures women in our community have access to the most advanced imaging technology available, allowing for earlier detection, clearer diagnostic accuracy, and better patient outcomes when every moment matters.

Supporting St. Joe's 50/50 is supporting vital care to women in our community.

We've had a GREAT week at the Foundation!

Some of our highlights included our annual Employee Giving campaign where St. Joe's comes together to pledge support for our hospital.

FOUNDATION FACT: In 2025 our employees raised over $23,000 through payroll deductions. Since 2012...a whopping $216,506.37!! Just incredible!💙

We had the pleasure of attending the Spark Luncheon on behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Saint John.

How inspiring to see so many community leaders supporting the work of this organization, and the mentors and mentees who bring it all to life. We were happy to be a part of it.

We had an incredibly positive visit from The Saint John Region Chamber CEO Shannon Merrifield and took advantage of our time together to show her around the Mammography department, one of our main priorities in 2026. Thank you, Shannon, Carole, Deb and Lisa for all that you do for Saint John.

We also met so many friends at the Saint John Sea Dogs game on Friday evening. We were so touched by all your words of encouragement as we set our focus on Women's Health in 2026.

Our Foundation looks forward to engaging with the community throughout the year. But don't wait! Come for a visit, meet our new team, have a coffee and share your ideas!

We want to thank Grateful Patient Todd and his wife Denise for sharing their experience.

"I can't say enough about the St Joseph's Hospital day surgery department and staff of the 6th floor where he stayed the night.

The hospital was super clean. You could eat off the floor. This was in every section I was in.

The RN's, LPN's, physio staff, (friends who work there and checked in) EVERYONE, I encountered were so friendly and so readily available to answer questions and assist.

I know I complained about the wait for this surgery as it is and was unacceptable, however our healthcare professionals do not control this metric and they go above and beyond and make up for any shortfalls as best they can.

Dr. Wagg was also kind to take time and answer questions, concerns and not in a rushing manner and carefully explained everything I needed to know."

Everyone at St. Joseph's Hospital wishes you a speedy recovery, Todd!

Another milestone for care at St. Joe’s!

The enhancements to OR Suite #1 are now complete, strengthening the Orthopaedic Surgery program at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

With new equipment in place, surgical teams can reduce wait times, ease pain sooner, and help patients return to movement, mobility, and everyday life faster.
