👣 Foot Fact Friday 👣
Let’s Talk Toenail Fungus (Yes, Really!)
Did you know that toenail fungus affects about 10% of the population—and that number climbs as we get older? It’s more common than you think, and it thrives in warm, damp environments, like sweaty socks and shoes. 🙈
Fungal infections can cause your toenails to become discolored, thickened, brittle, or even start to lift. Not cute—and definitely not comfortable!
But here’s the good news: you can take simple steps at home to help prevent toenail fungus from ever starting:
🧼 Wash and dry your feet daily—don’t forget between the toes!
🧦 Change your socks regularly, especially if they get sweaty.
👟 Let your shoes breathe—rotate pairs and avoid wearing the same shoes two days in a row.
💅 Don’t share nail clippers or files, and keep yours clean.
🏖️ Wear shower sandals in public places like pools, gyms, or hotel bathrooms.
🪬 Use antifungal powder or spray if you're prone to sweaty feet. Make sure to spray your shoes too!
Fungal infections can sneak up on anyone—but with a little extra care, your feet can stay clean, clear, and comfy! 💅👣
