We are pleased to announce that our annual Memorial Christmas Tree Lighting Service will take place on Thursday, December 4 at Saint John High School.

Conducted by the staff of Brenan's, Castle and Kennebecasis Funeral Homes, and featuring the 100-voice Saint John High School Choir, the evening brings together families who are dealing with a loss, for a time of mutual support and reflection on the comforting memories the season can inspire.

The service is a combination of music, reflections and special seasonal messages focused on those who grieve, and concludes with the illumination of our special Christmas Tree, as a beautiful, seasonal memorial to those we’ve lost.

Families we have served over the past year should watch the mailbox for their invitation. There is no charge to attend and everyone is welcome - additional tickets will be made available soon.

MAKING IMPROVEMENTS TO SERVE YOU BETTER

Beginning on Monday, October 6, we will be carrying out some renovations to the Chapel at our Paradise Row location. The work will be done in stages over approximately two weeks. While we expect that the Chapel will be available for use during some of this period, it will, necessarily, be out of service at other times. We are making arrangements for suitable alternative locations for use on those occasions.

For those who may have need of the Chapel during this period, your Funeral Director will be able to advise you of our schedule and explain the available alternatives.

We have planned this project carefully to minimize disruption to those we serve and will make every effort to ensure that is the case. We appreciate your patience as we upgrade our facilities and assure you that we remain available to serve you, without interruption, should you require our assistance.

Castle Fallsview Funeral Home is pleased to host our third annual Coffee@Castle in conjunction with Saint John West Days. Join us on Saturday morning, August 16 – Community Family Day – between 8 AM and 10 AM for coffee and an early morning treat here at 309 Lancaster Avenue.

We will be serving coffee, tea, juice and snacks in our parking lot and Saint John West’s own storyteller David Goss will be sharing West Side stories and lore on our deck, overlooking the falls, the river and downtown.

We’re excited to be a part of Saint John West Days and we hope you will stop by and let us treat you to your morning coffee, to kick off Community Family Day while you enjoy Dave’s stories and the spectacular view.

Fact & Folklore At Reversing Falls

We are pleased to be sponsoring another Walk 'n Talk with David Goss on Tuesday, June 3, beginning at 7:15 from our parking lot here at Castle Fallsview on Lancaster Avenue

Since 1978, David has been educating and entertaining Saint Johners and our guests with his walking tours throughout the city. Providing a glimpse of our history and endless stories about the characters who created it.

Walks are no more 1.5 hours and usually 2 kilometers or less. There are frequent stops for the stories. All walkers participate at their own risk.

In case of inclement weather, call (506) 672- 8601 after 6 P.M. for cancellation notices.

For many, the Christmas season is not always ‘The most wonderful time of the year.’ Feelings of sadness from the loss of loved ones, broken relationships, loneliness or regrets over what could have been can overwhelm us.

This Blue Christmas service will be a time of Scripture reading, quiet reflection, prayer, singing carols of the season, and sharing in the Lord’s Supper. We will decorate a tree with
‘something blue’ to symbolize our losses, as we seek God’s healing in what may be a dark time along our journey.

All are invited to join Rev Ann Fairweather for this service on Wed, Dec 18 at 6:30 pm.
