Okay so while I have you here! And you're all laying in bed scrolling through Facebook and Instagram, I want you to do something for me... Well it's really for you.
Lay on your back
Bring both of your knees to your chest just as close as you can without holding on to them.
Drop your knees to the right side putting your body into a twist...
Stay there and rest for a few minutes.
Straighten your legs roll back onto your back.
Repeat the process except dropping your knees to the left side.
Stay there for a few minutes soften into everything!
If you feel any kind of pain then ease yourself out until there is no pain but not fully out of position.
IF THIS IS TOO MUCH FOR YOU...
Roll over onto one of your sides.
Make yourself comfortable.
Bringing your knees just a little higher to your chest
Take your arm that's on top and hold it up to the ceiling pointing your fingers straight to the ceiling thumb pointing towards your head
Roll backwards bringing your arm and shoulder down to the bed. If you hover that is okay! Eventually you will no longer hover.
If your leg lifts up that is okay.
You are doing a twist of your lumbar spine and your upper thorax.
Do this regularly and you will:
open up your chest,
stretch your pecs,
increase your lungs capacity,
lessen the work your heart is doing,
increasing circulation and oxygen to the brain,
releasing and relaxing the tight spots in your back between your shoulders and your neck!
And there's a whole bunch more but I'm tired I'm going to bed now
Just do it - do it now! Do it again in the morning before you get out of bed...
Just do it!
Figure out how to attempt to do it like the picture attached... If it doesn't look the same that is okay! Just keep doing it.
