Katie is a Speech Language Pathologist with 16 years experience working with children. The focus of her career has been with the pediatric population in a school-based setting. She offers assessment and intervention to children within New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. She is a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists and Speech-Language & Audiology Association of Canada. Katie obtained her Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Dalhousie University in 2006 and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Dalhousie University in 2003. Katie has always focused on creating a fun, positive, client-centered, growth-focused learning environment for her students, tailoring their programming to achieve their individual communication goals. Beginning in 2020, the challenges brought on by the COVID pandemic, caused a shift in our service delivery model, to developing a virtual platform. Over the next 2 years, Katie perfected this platform to offer fun, functional and effective assessment and intervention to the students on her caseload. In 2022, Katie introduced CommuniKate, as a way to connect virtually with families in NB, NS and PEI, and offer them real, practical treatment strategies regardless of their location. Katie is a dedicated, energetic, knowledgeable Speech Language Pathologist committed to improving the communication of children. Throughout her career, Katie has focused on continual skill development including P.R.O.M.P.T. Level 1, Lidcombe Program, ISTAR, Picture Exchange Communication System Level 1 and Level 2 and DTTC (Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing).
