The current Canada's Food Guide may be different from what you remember growing up

Here's a crash course on tips for healthy eating!

1. Have plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Try making half of your plate vegetables and fruits!

2. Eat protein foods.
Try to choose protein foods that come from plants every day. Plant-based protein foods can provide more fibre and less saturated fat than other types of protein foods. This can be beneficial for your heart health.

3. Choose whole grain foods.
Whole grain foods are a healthier choice than refined grains because whole grain foods include all parts of the grain. Refined grains have some parts of the grain removed during processing.

4. Make water your drink of choice.
If plain water is too boring, you can try sparkling water OR add fruits and herbs to your hot or cold water for flavour!
