And here's something that might surprise you:
๐ก 1 in 100 people live with epilepsy.
๐กThat's your coworker. Your neighbour. Someone's child. Someone's parent.
๐กThey're not asking for fear or pity.
๐กThey're asking for understanding.
At Essential Staff, our healthcare workers - PSWs, RNs, RPNs, RSWs - support clients living with epilepsy every single day.
In hospitals. In long-term care homes. In people's own homes.
And the one thing we've learned?
Awareness is the first step to real care.
๐จ Here's what to do if someone has a seizure:
โ
Stay calm
โ
Time the seizure
โ
Clear away sharp or hard objects
โ
Gently turn them on their side
โ
Do NOT hold them down
โ
Call 911 if it lasts more than 5 minutes
Save this. Share this.
You never know when someone near you will need you to know this. ๐
Epilepsy doesn't stop life.
The right care, the right support, and the right awareness make all the difference.
