This Remembrance Day, we take time to reflect on the courage and selflessness of those who have served - and continue to serve - in times of war, conflict, and peace. Their sacrifices have shaped our country and the freedoms we cherish today.

At St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, we honour our veterans and their families with deep gratitude. Their strength, compassion, and commitment continue to inspire us in the work we do each day.

At 11:00 a.m., we will pause for two minutes of silence to remember, reflect, and give thanks. Lest we forget.

This week, we celebrate our nursing professionals in the Operating Room, Outpatient Surgery, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. Perioperative nurses provide dynamic care in a complex environment that requires extensive knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiological changes during surgery and surgical instrumentation. The perioperative nursing team supports our patients throughout their operative journey while providing safe, age-appropriate, ethical and culturally sensitive care.
