I came across this quote and immediately thought of my profession.

In Quebec, where I practice, naturopathic medicine remains unregulated — not for lack of effort, but because the provincial government has yet to determine how best to assess its value.

This stands in contrast to seven other provinces and one territory where our profession is regulated, and at a time when the importance of prevention, functional medicine, and whole-person care has never been clearer.

I hold deep gratitude for conventional medicine and the dedicated professionals who care for millions every day. And I believe the integration of lifestyle medicine, nutritional optimization, hormone balance, and gut health is an essential complement to that care.

Regulation isn’t a question of if, but when. Stage 3 is coming — with time, patience, and continued collaboration.
