COURAGE UNDER FIRE 🇨🇦
Master Corporal Frigon. Afghanistan, May 2009.
Imagine: You’re 23. Nine soldiers are looking at you. Bullets everywhere. You’re cut off. Surrounded. Every decision you make in the next 60 seconds determines who goes home.
Now imagine doing it twice in two weeks.
May 7th - ambushed. May 20th - ambushed again. Same section commander. Same impossible odds. Same outcome: everyone makes it out.
While rounds cracked past his head, MCpl Frigon stood his ground. Not because he was fearless - because his troops needed him steady. He exposed himself to enemy fire to pinpoint their position. Called the shots. Led the withdrawal.
Zero casualties. Twice.
The weight of those decisions? Unimaginable. The stress of knowing nine families are counting on you to bring their sons and daughters home? Crushing.
But that’s leadership when it matters most.
Medal of Military Valour recipient.
