World Water Day π§
I don't think it can be emphasized enough how
important clean water is to the human race...to all life
on earth.
Here in Canada, we are blessed with an abundance of
water. Yet the reality is that not all Canadians have
reliable access to clean drinking water. It seems
impossible in a country so rich in natural resources, yet
it remains a challenge for some communities.
Around the world, we are seeing shifts in rainfall and
seasonal patterns, with some regions experiencing less
precipitation and increasing strain on their water
supplies. Events like industrial fires, environmental
disasters, and pollution can also threaten water
sources in an instant. This week, reports showed
polluted rain falling in parts of Iran following burning oil
tanks. Raising difficult questions about how
communities will protect their water and land after such
events.
Days like World Water Day remind us that protecting
water is not just an environmental issue, itβs a human
health issue. Clean water is foundational to community
wellbeing, food systems, and the health of future
generations.
Prioritizing the protection of our water sources, and
ensuring fair access to clean water for everyone, is one
of the most important steps we can take to support the
health of people and the planet. π§
Now go have a glass of water and don't forget your
electrolytes! π«
