Beauty is Truth, Truth Beauty
Hi, I’m Robin. And the words above are those of John Keats, English romantic poet, who lived a hundred years ago. As a lifetime truth teller and truth feeler-- an empath, through and through, I have always loved that quote.
It’s a messy business, this being human. Consciously or unconsciously we have buried our hurts, stored trauma within our bodies, and wounded ourselves and often others through our behaviour. We have declared ourselves unloveable: broken, flawed, or screwed-up somehow, and then shrouded our secrets in shame. The truth of how we feel has been deemed unacceptable, and the truth of who we are, well, that’s a terrifying consideration; and we have locked it away within ourselves, unseen, and condemned to live in darkness.
But what of Keats, my darlings? What if WHO YOU ARE is beautiful? Whole, perfect, and loveable, without exception?
I believe it is. That you are. And that all that is needed for you to experience your divinity-- your Radiance! Your Magnificence!-- is the courage to call up your truth from the darkness. The courage to look within and see yourself as you truly are, wounds and all: a beautiful being who is wholly worthy of love.
