Low vision is a loss of eyesight that cannot be sufficiently improved with conventional glasses, contact lenses, medical treatments, or surgical interventions. Regular eye exams can help with early detection.

January is Glaucoma Awareness Month!
Glaucoma is an eye disease where the increased internal pressure of your eye can damage the optic nerve. Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness in Canada. Risks increase with diabetes, high blood pressure and eye injuries. Regular optometric examinations are important to assess the risk for glaucoma.

This month is Diabetes Awareness Month

👁Diabetics live with higher health risks for certain eye conditions. One condition, diabetic retinopathy, occurs when there is a weakening or swelling of the tiny blood vessels in the retina of the eye

Early signs of diabetes can be detected in a routine eye exam.

October is Children's Vision Month!
How often should your child get their eyes checked?
Annually! As the child grows, so do their eyes! Healthy vision is an important part of their well-being: everyday activities and on the playing field. Children with vision problems are generally unaware of their condition, because they assume everyone sees the way they do. Parents may also not realize their child has a vision problem.
