Sometimes the smallest gestures mean the absolute most to us. 💜
Every time you trust us with your stories, share our content, like a post, follow our page, or refer someone to our community of care — it genuinely moves us.

And when you let us know if something feels off in your counselling space, that matters too. Those moments help us stay aligned with the participant-centered, relational practice we care so deeply about.

Your presence, your engagement, and your trust are never taken for granted. Thank you for being part of this community and walking alongside us. ✨

Trauma can weave its way into our days in ways we don’t always expect. Whether it comes from a single moment or from experiences that have accumulated over time, trauma can influence how we move through relationships, work, rest, and our sense of connection with ourselves and others.

At Breland Counselling & Support, we walk alongside therapy participants as they explore the stories that trauma has tried to shape. We honour each person’s cultural knowledge, lived wisdom, and the many forms of care that have helped them survive. Together, we create a supportive environment where your pace, your voice, and your values guide the work.

Our trauma-responsive approach includes:
✨ Centering your narrative rather than pathologizing your experiences
✨ Exploring how trauma may impact the body, emotions, and relationships
✨ Supporting boundaries as expressions of care
✨ Inviting community and collective-care practices that help sustain healing
✨ Offering grounding strategies that align with your cultural, spiritual, and personal practices

You don’t have to move through these stories alone. If you’re curious about connecting with a therapist who will move with you, honour your expertise in your own life, and support your healing in a collaborative way, we’re here.

What started as one small goal — to collect 100 pieces of winter clothing for — grew into three months of collective care.

Together, our community gathered thousands of items: warm coats, boots, bedding, socks, and essentials that were redistributed directly through 7th Gen to folks who needed them most. No hoops. No judgment. Just people showing up for people.

This is what happens when care becomes collective. When we remember that warmth, dignity, and survival are community responsibilities — not individual failures.

If you have winter clothing, footwear, or bedding to share, keep it moving. Donate. Share this post. Talk to your workplace about a drive. And if you’re able, consider financially supporting 7th Gen so they can keep getting supplies exactly where they’re needed.

Care is powerful when we do it together.

✨ Direct Billing Update ✨
We’re glad to share that we now offer direct billing with Sun Life and The Co-operators.

If you’re covered through either provider, we can support setting this up so payment feels a little lighter and more accessible.

We’re also working hard behind the scenes to get additional insurance providers set up, and we’ll share updates as more options become available.

📞 Please call (639)307-5830 or ✉️ email: admin@brelandcounselling.ca to get set up, or to ask any questions about coverage.

We’re happy to walk alongside you with this process. 💜

Rethinking “Failure” 🌿

What if failure isn’t a personal flaw, but simply a mismatch between your actions and someone else’s expectations? 🤔

Society, family, and even our own inner critic often set standards that don’t reflect who we truly are. Feeling like we’ve “failed” under these conditions can lead to self-blame, doubt, and shame.

But what if we shifted the lens? What if your “failure” is actually a sign that you’re on your own unique path—one that doesn’t fit the mold, but aligns with your true self?

✨ Failure isn’t the end. It can be the beginning of a more authentic, fulfilling life. It’s an invitation to question external expectations and embrace your path, however unconventional it may seem.

At Breland Counselling & Support, we walk alongside participants as they explore these journeys, helping to untangle societal pressures and reconnect with their own stories. 💜
