A glass-front niche offers a personal and meaningful way to remember a loved one after cremation. Thoughtfully chosen items such as photos or small mementos can reflect their passions and preserve cherished memories. At Arbor Memorial, we support families in honouring their loved ones through faith‑based traditions, cultural customs, or personal choices, creating spaces where remembrance feels respectful and authentic.

National Advance Care Planning Day is a good reminder to take a moment and think about what matters most to you.

Advance care planning is about reflecting on your values and sharing your healthcare wishes with the people you trust. Starting these conversations early can help make future decisions clearer for everyone involved.

However small, steps taken today can bring reassurance and mutual understanding for your family tomorrow.

By naming a lunar crater after Commander Reid Wiseman’s late wife, Carroll, the Artemis II crew honoured a deeply human impulse: the desire to ensure the people who shape our lives are remembered.

Even as humanity reaches farther into space exploration and deeper into the universe, moments like these remind us how essential love and remembrance are. Neither distance nor time can diminish the meaning of honouring those we hold close.

Many people are surprised by how many myths still surround funerals. The truth is, a funeral doesn’t have to be a sombre event. It’s a space for connection, comfort, and honouring a life in a personal way.

Because every family is different, each funeral reflects what matters most to the people who loved them, creating a celebration as unique as the person being remembered.

Letting go of items doesn’t mean letting go of memories.

It’s normal to feel some guilt when sorting through a loved one's belongings, but know that releasing certain items does not weaken the bond you shared.

Take your time, honour your feelings, and allow yourself the space you need to make the right decisions.

The month of March is dedicated to celebrating the French language and the richness of Francophone cultures around the world. La Francophonie Month highlights the vibrancy, heritage, and shared identity carried through French.

This year’s theme, “active ta francophonie,” encourages engagement and connection within the Francophone community. It’s an opportunity to appreciate, learn, and celebrate a language that brings people together, especially here in Canada.
