Dear Families and Friends,

We would like to share an update following the Saskatchewan Health Authority’s outbreak safety walk at Sunnyside late this afternoon. The SHA team was very pleased with the measures we have in place and the work our care partners are doing to protect the residents.

They provided one additional recommendation:
All staff and visitors in resident care areas must wear a mask, even in neighbourhoods without sick residents.

At this time: Riverview and Diefenbaker remain in outbreak precautions.

Prairieland is open and not affected; however, masks are now required in all three neighbourhoods as an added layer of protection.

We appreciate your continued cooperation and patience as we work together to keep everyone safe.

Dear Family, Residents and Friends of Sunnyside,

This is to let you know that we have two residents that are sick on Diefenbaker (room #’s in the 300 range) ) in addition to the residents that are sick on Riverview.

We have closed the doors to Diefenbaker as well. All staff and family entering these two neighbourhoods must wear a medical mask.

Please no more than two visitors at a time to avoid crowding and ensure to use hand sanitizer on the way in and out of Sunnyside.

All neighbourhoods (Riverview, Prairieland and Diefenbaker) are currently on tray service for meals to reduce the spread of the infection.

If you are not feeling well due to any illness, please do not visit until 48 hours after your symptoms are over. If you get sick within a few days after visiting Sunnyside please call our nursing station at 306-653-1267 ext 124 ASAP to let us know so we can monitor your loved one.

Our visiting hours remain the same from 9:00am to 8:00pm seven days a week. Face-time visits are available through our Recreation team. Call them at 306-653-1267 ext 140 to arrange a time and they will set your loved one up with an iPad for your visit.
For updates on how your loved one is doing call our nurses at 306-653-1267 ext 124.

Please pass this information along to any family or friends that might be visiting Sunnyside.

We’re happy to share that Public Health has declared the recent outbreak at Sunnyside over!

All activities and routines are now returning to normal. We continue to encourage good hand hygiene and other standard infection-prevention practices to help keep everyone safe and healthy.

***Update on the St. Henry Avenue construction***

The city construction manager has informed us that they will not be blocking access to Sunnyside's parking lots. All their work will be at the intersection of St. Henry Avenue and Ruth Street.

So, you can't get to Sunnyside via Ruth Street, but Taylor street is open.

Parking at Sunnyside is unaffected so you can park in either of our parking lots or on the street.
