Last week, CARF accreditors were on site at LutherCare Communities as part of our ongoing accreditation renewal, including visits to group homes, housing, and our home help program.
Their review focused on quality, safety, and accountability across our services, reinforcing a strong culture of continuous improvement and person‑centred care. This work supports better outcomes for residents and provides clear standards and expectations that help our team members deliver consistent, high‑quality services.

Thankful that our Chief People Officer, Laura Hunter, and Director of Community Living, Sissel Prediger MSW, RSW, were able to attend yesterday’s Saskatchewan Budget Speech. Hearing provincial priorities firsthand provided valuable insight into how upcoming investments in seniors’ supports, housing affordability, and community services may impact the people and communities we serve.

We have some news to share about our annual Stair Climb Challenge and the Power Breakfast! The video tells the whole story, but here’s the TLDR version.

With ongoing elevator replacement work at Luther Tower, we’re moving the Stair Climb Challenge to Tuesday, October 6.

This means our annual Power Breakfast will move to this spring, Thursday, May 7, to be specific. Watch the video for more details!

LutherCare Communities recently held a strategic planning and training session with our Board and executive leadership team. We focused on Years 4 and 5 of our current five-year roadmap, discussed the relationship model of governance, and built a shared understanding of AI oversight.

Appreciation to our Board Chair, Monica Kreuger, our CEO, Gabe Lafond, and to our internal facilitators, Laura Hunter, M.Ed (Chief People Officer) and Eldon Duchscher (Director, Marketing & Communications), for guiding a strong day of dialogue, strategy, and connection. Thank you as well to all members of the Board and ELT for your involvement, commitment, and feedback.

Next, we will translate our work into clear priorities that enable our teams to execute, while also keeping an eye on the longer-term planning ahead. As always, our work remains grounded in compassionate care, excellence in serving, inclusion and belonging, and integrity.
