🪶 Supporting Indigenous Caregivers Across Canada 🪶

Indigenous caregivers face unique challenges rooted in historical trauma and ongoing impacts of colonization. The Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence is launching the Indigenous Caregiving Collective (ICC) - the first initiative of its kind in Canada!

🎯 ICC Goals: • Build Indigenous networks of researchers and supporters • Share traditional knowledge and practices • Identify barriers to culturally appropriate support • Advocate for better caregiving policy

🌟 Key needs: 3 in 4 Indigenous caregivers stress the importance of culturally sensitive caregiving supports.

This groundbreaking initiative, led by Dr. Grant Bruno from Nipisihkopahk (Samson Cree Nation), will guide future support for Indigenous, Métis, and Inuit caregivers.
