February is Heart Health Month ❤️

While we don’t diagnose or treat heart disease, we do support many of the daily habits that influence heart health over time.

Here are a few evidence-informed ways to care for your heart as part of whole-person wellness.

Even a healthy step count cannot reverse 10 hours of immobility.

Your circulation doesn’t depend on how far you walk.
It depends on how often you move.

Sitting too long leads to blood stagnation → vein valve weakness → swelling → varicose veins → higher risk of clots.

✔️ Get up every 45–60 minutes.
✔️ Stretch.
✔️ Walk for 2 minutes.
✔️ Move your calf muscles — they’re your “second heart.”

💡When your calf muscles squeeze and relax, they help push blood back up your legs toward your heart

How many hours do you think you sit in a day?

They say you can’t do it if you sit at a desk all day… 🫣

Are you up for the Squat Lock Hand Challenge?

✅ Feet together
✅ Squat down low
✅ Thread your arms through your legs
✅ Interlace your fingers in front

👉 SAVE this one and try it from your desk later today!

If it meant better energy, focus, and presence for your family, would you:

💫 Workout consistently
💫 Invest time into prepping/planning your meals
💫 Walk 7-10k steps daily
💫 Get enough sleep
💫 Make time for self care

If you’re neglecting your own needs… you’ll never be able to show up in full capacity for the people you love.

What are you going to do about it?

02/17/2026

If you can do this, you pass the “Old Lady Test” 😆

It’s the Sock Challenge! 🧦

Put on a sock while sitting in a low squat (without falling over).

If you can do it, it usually means you’ve got:
✅ good hip mobility
✅ strong ankles + legs
✅ solid balance

👇 Comment “Still Young” if you did it!

If you’re an athlete or active individual with “high cholesterol” and no familiar predispositions, it doesn’t necessarily mean your heart is unhealthy.

Especially if you train hard, don’t eat enough for your activity level, or your hormones are out of balance.

💖 Fasting, very low-carb eating, or under-eating can raise cholesterol — even in people who are lean and fit.
💖 Cholesterol can rise when the body is under stress or inflamed.
💖 A higher cholesterol number doesn’t automatically mean higher risk.
💖 Athletes and very active people who aren’t fuelling enough often see cholesterol increase because the body is running low on energy.

Cholesterol isn’t black and white.

If your labs are confusing, a registered dietitian can help you understand what they actually mean for your body and activity level, and put together a personalized plan that supports your performance and your heart health.
