FORWARD HEAD POSTURE

"Forward head posture (FHP) is a common condition where your head is positioned with your ears in front of your body's vertical midline. In normal or neutral head posture, your ears line up with your shoulders and midline. FHP can cause neck pain, stiffness, an unbalanced gait, and other side effects."

What aggravates the psoas muscle?

"It is a deep muscle that originates from the lower back and pelvis, and extends up to the inside surface of the upper part of the femur. The psoas tendon can get inflamed from overuse, muscle tightness, and muscle weakness, resulting in a painful hip condition known as psoas tendonitis."

What is the difference between hyperkyphosis and kyphosis?

"Kyphosis is the curvature of the thoracic spine, formed by the shape of the vertebrae and the intervertebral discs and–in standing position–paraspinal muscle strength. Hyperkyphosis is present when the kyphosis angle exceeds the normal ranges."

DESK POSTURE

Posture is a bit nuanced. Its more about the length of time spent in one position, rather than the position itself.

"Maintaining a treatment plan of routine treatments can improve the ability to adopt different postures and improve shoulder muscle function."

What is the main cause of calf cramps?

In general, they're likely the result of tired muscles. The risk of having night leg cramps also increases with age. Sometimes there may be a component of electrolyte imbalance."

Eli Sanche, RMT

Elijah started his training in August 2017 at McKay Career Training and graduated in July of 2019 from Axiom Career College. He acquired his Medical Massage Therapy Certificate and will be registered with MTAS as of September 2019. He chose to become a member of MTAS to enable him to accept SGI and WCB claims, as he is happy to accept new patients and appreciates all referrals.

Elijah assesses the tissues and opens each treatment with fascial techniques. He then tunes his pressure to the response of the body, as well as the patient's preference. He focuses on deep tissue massage but also offers relaxation oriented sessions.

Elijah approaches each treatment with the intention to treat the root cause of the dysfunction and to facilitate healing and re-balancing of the musculoskeletal network. He is well educated on the human body and does his best to answer any and all questions his patients may have.

"Educating my patients is a top priority for me because I believe body awareness is the key to maintaining health." -Elijah Sanche, RMT
