FAQ: Is there a difference between female and male massage therapists?

"The difference between massage therapists lies in their style and techniques, not their gender. Some people may think massage therapy is a feminine job, while others believe women lack the strength for therapeutic treatments - but neither is true. What matters most is finding a therapist who understands your needs and uses the right approach for your specific condition, whether it's acute or chronic."

Long-term (chronic) grinding or clenching of teeth can cause serious jaw pain.

"During a TMJ treatment, you may feel some heat and stretching. Then, when the muscles and fascia finally let go, many people describe it as a “melting” feeling where relief is found."

Eli received his medical massage therapy diploma from axiom career college in July 2019 and became a registered massage therapist with MTAS one month later.

He is most known for his precise trigger point work and his patient centered treatment plans. Eli applies his therapeutic skills and uses his knowledge of the human body to treat sporting injuries (strains & sprains), musculoskeletal conditions (carpal tunnel, sciatica, tension headaches, TMJ dysfunction, impingement syndromes, thoracic outlet syndrome, etc.), as well as whatever aches and tension arises from every day life and work through deep tissue treatments.

With muscle tissue playing an important role in the preservation of mobility and proper function, he believes that improving and maintaining muscle health should be priority and therefore offers treatments from 30 minutes to 120 minutes long.

Eli aims home care towards injury prevention, pain management, postural correction and rehabilitation as well as takes his time to answer any and all questions his patients may have.

How long do effects of massage last?

"On average, the benefits of massage can last up to a month or as little as 1 day. On average, most people notice the benefits for about a week. This is one of the reasons it's recommended that you get a massage on a regular basis."

FORWARD HEAD POSTURE

"Forward head posture (FHP) is a common condition where your head is positioned with your ears in front of your body's vertical midline. In normal or neutral head posture, your ears line up with your shoulders and midline. FHP can cause neck pain, stiffness, an unbalanced gait, and other side effects."

Eli Sanche, RMT

Elijah started his training in August 2017 at McKay Career Training and graduated in July of 2019 from Axiom Career College. He acquired his Medical Massage Therapy Certificate and will be registered with MTAS as of September 2019. He chose to become a member of MTAS to enable him to accept SGI and WCB claims, as he is happy to accept new patients and appreciates all referrals.

Elijah assesses the tissues and opens each treatment with fascial techniques. He then tunes his pressure to the response of the body, as well as the patient's preference. He focuses on deep tissue massage but also offers relaxation oriented sessions.

Elijah approaches each treatment with the intention to treat the root cause of the dysfunction and to facilitate healing and re-balancing of the musculoskeletal network. He is well educated on the human body and does his best to answer any and all questions his patients may have.

"Educating my patients is a top priority for me because I believe body awareness is the key to maintaining health." -Elijah Sanche, RMT
