Everyday First Aid Training

Everyday First Aid Training First aid training should be realistic! Courses are customizable to you, your family, your home and John's Ambulance. This is the way it is. Let me help you.

Traditionally, First Aid is taught in a classroom for those who need the certification for employment. The content is delivered in a methodical manner under the direction of a program like the Red Cross or St. There is competitive pricing and program standards every delivery partner must meet. But what if you didn't need certification? What if you just wanted some help learning what to do in a situation that is completely unique to you, your home, your recreational life, your family, and your pursuits? The limits of a structured class may not really answer your questions or give you the experience you need. I have taught the standardized program from the Red Cross for over 13 years now. Always have and always will. But through experience and countless conversations with individuals in my classes, I have come to appreciate that there is more to learning "first aid' than sitting in a classroom. I can facilitate any learning experience you need. Moms - learn what to do with a child who is choking right in the comfort of your living room, with your children there! Grandmas - nervous about young kids in the house again? Husband aging with health problems? You can never be too old to refresh your understanding of what to do if...

Seeking adventure? What will you do when an ambulance cannot realistically access you when you or someone in your group has a severe injury? How capable are you waiting for help to arrive for more than one hour? CPR may be needed on any random day in any random situation - but are you really sure how to do it? Winter activities can be fun! But when someone gets hurt and you are outside for more than 20minutes - the complications start to seem unmanageable! Car accident. Everyone's worst fear. How can you contribute to getting the injured help? Let me help you! I am a certified Red Cross Instructor in the following:
- Standard First Aid
- Childcare First Aid
- CPR / AED
- Wilderness & Remote First Aid
- First Responder
- Emergency Medical Responder
- Advanced First Aid
- Group and Individual Critical Incident Stress Management

Having a long list of courses I can teach means nothing if I do not have the background and experience to enhance the content. My background in Search and Rescue, my outdoor pursuits, my family, and my professional colleagues have all enhanced my ability to deliver a diverse and personalized experience to each of my students.

Landlines are always best, for so many reasons! Except people don't usually have them any more. We rely so heavily on technology and it's naive to assume it won't ever fail.

Check out what Back40 Wilderness First Aid Training has going on. You might live in the city - but EMS can't always easily get to you so the first aid you do matters until they get there. OR you might be able to walk out on your own but leaving your bike behind might not be an option!

Super great day I had training some volunteers with Saskatoon Search and Rescue! I'm so impressed with this teams willingness to put in long days and put their first aid skills to test. As a progressive plan we will now build on these basic skills and work towards Advanced First Aid!

While one of our members spent the weekend in Toronto with AdventureSmart coordinators from across Canada, many other SSAR members (Basic Searchers and experienced members alike) were certifying or re-certifying their First Aid skills with Everyday First Aid Training. They dealt with some serious "injuries"!

In addition to all that, three members spent a couple hours doing a short search scenario with the Saskatoon Police Service SAR team.

A great weekend and lots of learning!!

If time and cost is a barrier to you PLEASE ask me about Home CPR sessions! Absolutely everyone in your home can learn CPR - even if you don't need certification! Bystander CPR is the start of what could be a successful resuscitation or not.
