SWITCH - Student Wellness Initiative Toward Community Health A student-led interdisciplinary wellness project that provides free health and outreach services

SWITCH is a student-led interdisciplinary wellness organization based out of the Westside Community Clinic. The aim of the project is to provide free walk-in health and outreach services to the residents of Saskatoon’s core neighbourhoods. In addition to traditional clinical services, we offer counselling, speech language pathology, physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, cultural supports, gynecology, pediatrics, nutritional education, drop-in educational programming, and other outreach services.

SWITCH would like to give thanks to Morgan from the Saskatoon Sexual Assault & Information Centre and Briane from WebbSprout Learning Programs for facilitating programming sessions during our past few shifts! Participants and volunteers found your sessions both informative and fun, and we hope to see you back at SWITCH in the near future!😍

A thank you also goes out to Maria and Jackson, two year-1 College of Medicine - University of Saskatchewan students who performed community service learning shifts with us! Thank you to WCC nurse practitioners and Kendra (SW) for acting as clinical mentors!🩺

SWITCH is BACK!!!🥳🤩

Yesterday was the first SWITCH shift of 2026! All usual clinical and outreach services returned, and we will continue to operate on our usual Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Shoutout to Ruth for facilitating yesterday's programming session!😎

Before starting back up for 2026, SWITCH first wanted to send a huge thank you to last term's student social worker, Jasmine!🥳

Jasmine, a student social worker with the University of Regina, performed her mini-practicum placement with SWITCH from September to December last year. During that time, she has developed skills utilized in clinical social work, helping countless patients and community members with various social issues.

Not only has she been a wonderful volunteer, but also a great friend and colleague to other SWITCH members! We wish Jasmine all the best with her studies!🤩

"One Day" vs. "Day One"... MD student edition!🩺😍

This week, SWITCH welcomed the Schizophrenia Society of Saskatchewan, who led a programming session for the community and our volunteers! Huge thanks to them for stopping by!🧠

Elsewhere, our winter volunteers have been hard at work in providing both outreach and clinical services to the community! Huge thanks to you guys for your help, especially during this very busy time of year!📒🖊️

As a reminder, SWITCH will be open for only TWO MORE DAYS before the new year: Monday, December 15th, and Wednesday, December 17th. SWITCH services will return on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays in 2026.
