SWITCH - Student Wellness Initiative Toward Community Health A student-led interdisciplinary wellness project that provides free health and outreach services

SWITCH is a student-led interdisciplinary wellness organization based out of the Westside Community Clinic. The aim of the project is to provide free walk-in health and outreach services to the residents of Saskatoon’s core neighbourhoods. In addition to traditional clinical services, we offer counselling, speech language pathology, physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, cultural supports, gynecology, pediatrics, nutritional education, drop-in educational programming, and other outreach services.

Come get yourself a sweet treat at the SWITCH Spring Bakesale, taking place in the USask Health Sci E-Wing on Wednesday (April 1st) and Thursday (April 2nd) from 10am-3pm!🍪

All sales are done by donation, with a minimum price of $3 per item. You also get the chance to receive an extra sticker and SWITCH button if you donate a dollar more!🤩

We had a wonderful time connecting with students on campus, and sharing some of the amazing volunteering opportunities open to students. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, and for showing interest in getting engaged in your local communities!😎

On Monday, SWITCH had the opportunity to host a Lunch & Learn for Year-1 Master of Physical Therapy (M.P.T.) students from the School of Rehabilitation Science !📗🍕

Together, we went through clinical and outreach volunteering opportunities available to M.P.T. students. As well, we discussed the importance of providing physical therapy services to Saskatoon's core neighbourhoods, and the important role M.P.T. students can play in providing those services.

Shoutout to Maria, Year-1 MD student, for organizing the event! And thanks again to all the M.P.T. students who attended!💪

Another appreciation post for our tremendous volunteers! Included are Dawson and Tye, year-two student doctors from who performed some amazing outreach and clinical work. Shoutout to Rachel (NP) for mentoring!🤩

And we can't forget to show appreciation for our amazing outreach team! They helped to facilitate some very fun programming sessions, including one on making origami!✉️

Both day and night, SWITCH volunteers are making things right!☀️🌙... by providing warm meals to the local community!

Thank you to members of the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine for their recent food donation to SWITCH! All food donations are cooked, packaged, and served to anyone accessing SWITCH medical and outreach services.🥫

As well, we always make a little extra to provide to folks outside the clinic, an important service especially during colder months.

A special highlight goes out to a recent recipe: perogies!😍😋

Thank you to our amazing volunteers and supporters! Your support is making a tremendous impact in the lives of many.
