Crossmount Village

Crossmount Village Please call or email for an appointment or personal tour. Crossmount is a unique development located in a prairie oasis on the edge of the city of Saskatoon.

It is the perfect place for people who have lived for many years in a rural environment, but equally so for people who have lived in a city and have sought the solace of the prairie landscape. This 55+ aging-in-place community features independent homes in a variety of sizes with in-home health services available if needed. Unique amenities and a setting that is unbeatable means residents can stay as busy as they like or they can simply enjoy the beauty of their surroundings. The beauty of living here isn’t only the beauty of the surroundings. It is the freedom to live independently doing the things you enjoy and the opportunity to try something new. It is the peace of watching a hawk soar or the bustle of market day at the Glen, the splendour of enjoying a prairie sunset from your deck or the joy of awakening to birdsong. The beauty of living here is the freedom of choices and the variety of options; it is the reassurance of knowing onsite health care is available if needed; it is the pleasure of making new friends and the comfort of maintaining old relationships. An Idea
Crossmount was conceived in 2008 by a local businessman who felt there was a need for a new kind of ageing-in-place seniors’ community. Seeking to honour his Scottish family roots, Crossmount is named for the home in Scotland where one side of the family originates, while the first neighbourhood of independent houses, Fortingall, is the village from which the other side stems. As a philosophy, the development of Crossmount seeks to minimize its environmental footprint while utilizing the existing trees and vegetation as an ongoing amenity for its residents . A Place
Located just five kilometers south of Saskatoon on Lorne Avenue (Highway 219), Crossmount is much more than just a place to live. It is also home to The Glen which boasts an event venue, a "Barn" with a market café and resident-run greenhouse, and Saskatchewan’s largest cidery, The Crossmount Cider Company. Onsite apple and pear orchards, outdoor decks and seating areas, and a natural water feature which turns into a skating surface during the winter offer something for everyone whether you live onsite or are just visiting. A Way of Life
At the heart of Crossmount is the desire to provide all residents with the opportunity to a rich and varied life through active and healthy living, all in a prairie oasis on the outskirts of Saskatoon. A true aging-in-place community, Crossmount features a centre of excellence in health where residents have access to onsite in-home health services so they can stay in their homes for as long as they choose. An onsite dental practice and physiotherapy practice are also located in the Crossmount Centre for Healthy Aging. Both of these spaces are open to the public.

Crossmount now has its winter face. We think it may be here to stay, but we are ready for it as our roads are well maintained by our efficient snow moving crew. Our landscaping is decorated with a frosting of snow which makes things very picturesque.

We have opened our second neighbourhood of independent homes and house sites in this neighbourhood are available but only a few spots remain with possession dates of 2026. Call or email us for more information about how to add your new house into our construction queue.

An Idea, A Place, A Way of Life

Crossmount is a 400 acre prairie oasis located just five kilometres south of Saskatoon on Lorne Avenue. This unique community, for those 55 and older, offers five sizes of independent homes with a full range of on-site in-home health services available. Crossmount is pet friendly and is on city water. Crossmount residents are able to enjoy a variety of on-site amenities, but many people do not realize that some of these amenities are also available to non-residents.

The on-site Crossmount Cider Company has a sampling room and outdoor patio and deck where you can enjoy the ambience while sipping the newest blend. The Arts Barn boasts a coffee shop and the residents’ lounge is located here as well, along with a greenhouse which is the base location for one of the resident-run clubs. The coffee shop and cidery tasting room/deck are open to the public, as are the walking trails around the pond and throughout the site, the gardens behind the event building and the Manor House. The Manor House is the large white building on Crossmount Road. It is home to Guardian Dental Care and Nomad Therapies; both health care services are available to the public. Stop out to Crossmount to discover everything new and to revisit old favourites. Crossmount is close enough to the city to make visiting easy and the trip will leave you feeling like you have gotten away from it all.
