We are excited to announce that Dr. Kareem Nagy, MD, MSc, MRCS(Ed), FWCRS, is joining the Conlon Eye Institute.

Dr. Nagy brings specialized expertise in glaucoma, cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery and is committed to providing
comprehensive eye care. He will also support patient care at our clinics in Saskatoon and Swift Current.

Dr. Nagy’s commitment to eye health began early in life and has driven him to pursue advanced training and achieve recognition in
diverse areas of ophthalmology. After completing his medical degree and residency in Egypt, he pursued a specialized fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery.

His contributions gained international attention, earning him accolades, including an award for his Fellow Paper at the ASCRS Conference in Washington, D.C.

In his leadership role at the Royal Eye Center in Alexandria, Egypt, Dr. Nagy introduced and perfected wavefront-guided LASIK, PRK,
and SMILE techniques, rapidly advancing the field. As a global instructor and surgical trainer, he has championed SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction), training surgeons in its cutting-edge methodology and enhancing patient outcomes across multiple regions.

Dr. Nagy is highly regarded for his corneal expertise, with over 1,000 successful corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) and intracorneal ring segment (ICRS) implantation procedures for keratoconus. More recently, he has broadened his focus to include medical glaucoma. He has gained valuable experience at Ottawa’s I Care Surgical and Precision Glaucoma Centre, where he has co-managed high volumes of complex glaucoma cases alongside leading specialists.

At the Conlon Eye Institute, Dr. Nagy will work closely with referring professionals to offer patients access to state-of-the-art
cataract, refractive surgery, cornea and glaucoma care. His commitment to innovation and patient-centred outcomes makes him a trusted partner in delivering advanced ophthalmic solutions to our community.
