Massage. Physio. Chiro. Rest. Exercise. Stretching.

CONNECTIVE TISSUE, the missing link in your body

Most people think their pain is coming from a muscle.

It’s not.

It’s your connective tissue, your fascia, the web that wraps everything in your body.

✨ your muscles
✨ your bones
✨ your joints
✨ your organs
✨ your nervous system

When this tissue becomes:
– tight
– dehydrated
– stuck
– or compressed

…your whole body starts to feel it.

That “tight hip”? → could be pulling from your low back

That neck tension? → could be connected to your ribcage or diaphragm

That constant feeling of compression? → your system isn’t gliding the way it’s meant to

Your body is not made of separate parts. It’s one continuous, intelligent system.

And connective tissue is what links it all together.

In my sessions, we don’t just chase symptoms.

When was the last time you truly exhaled?

Not a forced breath.
Not a “take a deep breath” moment…

…but a real, effortless, full-body exhale.

Most bodies I work with are quietly holding.

Holding in the ribs.
Holding in the belly.
Holding in the diaphragm.

And when that space is tight…
everything else starts compensating.

The neck.
The shoulders.
The low back.
Even the mind.

So we don’t force the breath.
We create the conditions for it.

YOUR Psoas ISN’T JUST YOUR HIP FLEXOR 👀

Most people think the psoas = tight hips…

But it’s so much bigger than that.

This deep core muscle connects your:
→ spine
→ hips
→ diaphragm
→ nervous system

Which means when it’s holding tension… it doesn’t just stay in your hips.

It can show up as:
✨ low back compression
✨ tight hips that won’t “stretch out”
✨ shallow breathing
✨ shoulders that won’t relax
✨ neck + SCM tension
✨ feeling constantly “on”

Because when the psoas is gripping…

Most people think being regulated in your nervous system just means feeling calm.

But it’s so much deeper than that.

When your nervous system is actually regulated, when your Vagus Nerve is online, everything in your body changes:

Most people have spent YEARS (or decades) in shoes that compress the feet, slowly changing the natural shape of the toes and weakening the entire foundation of the body.

Our Story

Why the Turtle?

The turtle's whole life is one of steadfastness, effort, and patience. It lives a slow and steady life of "non-doing". We believe this also the life of the yogi. The Yoga teachings say that we must cultivate a long, steady practice to have the maximum result (sah tu dirgha kala nairantaira satkara asevitah dridha bhumih Sutra 1:14). Because of its seemingly wide-eyed, long-lived, carefree attitude the turtle is often thought to be the wisest of souls among the animal kingdom. At Inner Peace, we learn from the turtle and move at our own pace as the turtle does. The turtle takes its wisdom one day at a time - not reacting, simply accepting and moving on in its natural methods.

In many Native American folk legends, the turtle represents the earth mother and she is honored for saving mankind from the Great Flood. She is the immortal mother who stoically, silently carries the heavy burden of man upon her thick back. Many species have thirteen sections to their underbelly some sources say this represents each of the thirteen moons, and moons are a celestial symbol motherhood. Among Far Eastern cultures it was believed that the turtle's back symbolized Heaven and that its underside represented Earth. For them the turtle signified the possibility of uniting Heaven and Earth within one's own life.

There is a saying, "Home is where the heart is" - the turtle is always at home within itself.
