An example of how to use up veggies is to use the broccoli stalk in stir fry or soup!πŸ₯¦

I used the broccoli heads in a blueberry, broccoli salad and then used the stems in a stir fry the next day!

What fruit or veggie do you find goes to waste the most in your house?

My raspberries have been thriving with all this rain, it’s hard to keep up with picking them πŸ˜…

If you have the option to plant raspberries or other berries in your yard they can be a great, low maintenance way to get some fresh fruit!

I like to enjoy my raspberries on yogurt, as jam or frozen for smoothies!

You don’t need a lot of space to grow some of your own food! Container gardening is perfect for people who have limited space or might not want to take care of an entire garden plot!

Here we are growing tomatoesπŸ…, peppersπŸ«‘, basil and flowers🌷 for the pollinators!

Bonus, container gardening is a great, simple way to teach kids about where food comes from πŸ’‘

As we celebrate Indigenous History and Pride Month 🌈, it's important to honour and recognize the vibrant and resilient 2SLGBTQIA+ members within Indigenous communities. Two-Spirit people have always been an integral part of Indigenous cultures, holding special roles and respected positions.
We believe in the importance of nourishing our bodies and spirits with respect for our diverse identities. Let's celebrate this month by embracing our unique journeys and supporting one another in our paths to well-being and happiness.
- Celebrate Diversity in Food: Incorporate traditional foods into your meals. These foods are not only nutritious but also a celebration of heritage and identity.
- Connect with Community: Whether through gatherings or events, find ways to connect with and support LGBTQIA+ and Two-Spirit community members.
- Mindful Eating: Practice mindful eating to honour your body and spirit. Take time to appreciate the food you eat and its connection to the land and your culture.
- Self-Care and Love: Prioritize self-care and mental health. Reach out to community support groups if you need someone to talk to. Remember, you are loved and valued.
- Education and Awareness: Learn about the history and significance of Two-Spirit people in Indigenous cultures. Share this knowledge with others to foster understanding and acceptance.

Let's walk this path together with pride, honouring the ancestors and paving the way for future generations. 🌈
