🌟 Diabetes Awareness Month 🌟

Every 20 seconds, someone in the world loses a limb to diabetes-related complications — and many of these amputations can be prevented with early detection and proper foot care. 🦶💙

As Foot Care Nurses, we play a critical role in protecting patients’ mobility and quality of life.
Here’s how you can make every minute count with a 3-Minute Diabetic Foot Exam:

👀 What to LOOK For:
• Skin colour changes, dryness, cracks, or open sores
• Signs of infection or inflammation
• Thickened nails or calluses

❓ What to ASK:
• Any numbness, tingling, burning, or pain in the feet?
• Any new or worsening wounds?
• Changes in footwear comfort or fit?

🩺 What to DO:
• Inspect feet daily and educate clients to do the same
• Encourage routine foot care appointments
• Refer promptly for any abnormal findings

Let’s raise awareness, one foot at a time!
