Other days, it’s soft — just a whisper in the wind or the smell of coffee that takes you right back.

You start to find them in the small things.

The creak of the porch swing.

The way the sun hits the field at the same time it used to.

The song that comes on the radio when you need it most.

Grief doesn’t fade.

It settles in — like the rhythm of breathing.

You learn to smile through the ache.

To laugh again without guilt.

To keep living, not because you’ve forgotten, but because they’d want you to.

You find peace in remembering, not pain.

Because love doesn’t end — it just changes form.

And on quiet evenings like this, when the world slows down and the sky turns gold, you can almost feel them there.

Sitting beside you.

Listening to the same silence.

And reminding you that even though they’re gone…
