It’s Volunteer Appreciation Week 🤍

In Canada, Volunteer Appreciation week is an annual celebration that recognizes the incredible impact volunteers have in Canadian communities.

For so many organizations, volunteers fill crucial gaps where funding and/or staffing is limited.

Volunteers strengthen our community and support vulnerable populations with compassion.

The community care shown by volunteers often has a ripple effect, and creates a sense of purpose for everyone along the way.

We thank those who volunteer with Strong Minds and encourage those looking to do so to reach out to as at info@strongminds.co 🩵

Yesterday, more than 170 organizations came together at the Nurturing Algoma Symposium to discuss how to work together to support at-risk children in our community, because supporting children early has a lasting impact on their health, well-being, and future.

Tomorrow, our team will be joining partners for a full-day of system-wide professional development.

Reminder: Child care and EarlyON centres will be closed tomorrow as staff participate in this important collaborative work. 📢

✨ Run for Change 2026 ✨

Join us for Run for Change — a powerful community movement dedicated to mental health & addictions awareness. 💙

Created by the CEO of Strong Minds, this event was built on the belief that movement is medicine — that when we move our bodies, we begin to heal our minds.

Through years of supporting individuals and families in the community, Strong Minds has seen firsthand the impact that mental health and addiction can have. Run for Change was created to bring people together, break stigma, and create space for healing, connection, and support.
