Today we celebrate International Women’s Day and the incredible women who help guide, support and strengthen our community every day. ✨

At the Indigenous Friendship Centre, we are grateful to work alongside so many strong, inspiring women who teach, learn and grow together while supporting the families and community we serve.

This year, we asked some of our staff to reflect on two questions:
• What does being a woman mean to you?
• What does it mean to walk as an Indigenous woman today?

Their words remind us that Indigenous women carry strength, resilience, teachings and love passed down from generations before us. Every day we continue to uplift one another, honour our ancestors and walk forward with pride and purpose.

Today we honour the women who came before us, the women walking beside us and the young girls who will carry our stories into the future. 🌿

We are so proud of the amazing team we have here at The Indigenous Friendship Centre,

Our Reaching Home Program made a contribution of $10,000 to each neighbouring organizations who all have the same goal in mind, to help those in need.

We were able to contribute to The Salvation Army, The Soup Kitchen, St. Vincent Place and Harvest Algoma.

We must always help each other in hard times and hope that kindness is passed on. Community is built and we need to take care of one another. ☀️

Miigwech for your continued support to all our relations!
