Counselling helps you make meaningful connections between your present reactions and the patterns that shaped them.
When you begin to see where your emotions come from, you start to understand why certain moments or people can still trigger old feelings.
This awareness is powerful.
It moves you forward more quickly, helping you release what no longer belongs to you.
Letting go does not erase the past. It simply loosens its hold so you can step into your life with more peace and clarity.
Your mind is on overdrive and you have to work in the morning!
Have you ever found yourself lying awake, imagining every possible outcome for tomorrow? That restless “fortune telling” thinking can make sleep feel out of reach. Your mind is not trying to harm you. It is trying to protect you. It just needs a gentle reminder that the present moment is safe.
Here are five ways to calm those late-night thoughts
1. Name it
Say to yourself, “This is a worry, not a fact.” Naming it helps you step out of the story your mind is creating. Create an alternate story. The mind believes what it creates as fact.
2. Ground yourself
Bring your focus back to what is real right now. Notice your breathing, the feel of your blanket, or the quiet around you. A diffuser with some calming essential oils like lavender or an essential oil spray can also help with this. Play a guided meditation as well.
3. Write it out
Put your thoughts on paper and tell yourself you will look at them in the morning. This helps your mind release them for now.
4. Balance the what ifs
For every “what if it goes wrong,” gently add “what if it goes right.” What are some tangible reasons why things could turn out in a positive light. Let your mind see both sides.
5. Be kind to yourself
An anxious mind is one that needs caring and compassion. Offer it reassurance rather than judgment. Remind yourself that you deserve rest and sleep.
Peace does not come from predicting the future. It comes from allowing yourself to be present in this moment.

When you realize Monday is coming and consider running for higher ground…🐾😂
If the Sunday scaries have you climbing the furniture, like Mr. Archer, you’re not alone.
The mind loves to jump ahead to what’s next and sometimes that anticipation turns into stress.
This week, try grounding yourself before the week begins:
✨ Take some deep breaths, use some aromatherapy such as lavender before sleep. Grounding our nervous system at the start and end of a day can regulate cortisol levels and lower our feelings of stress.
✨ Set one kind intention for Monday (I.e. starting the morning off with some preferred tasks at work vs. the ones that instantly make our blood pressure rise ).
✨ Remember that no matter what the week holds, you can handle it. Living mindfully and in the moment, making the best of a day or situation can create a greater sense of optimism for the week ahead.
And if you should start the week from the top of the desk, finding your balance and calm again is certainly possible. You may just finish the day off back seated in your chair. 🪑
As for Mr. Archer, he made the best of his top of the world/desk experience and hosted a little dance party before calling it a day. Having fun on a Sunday afternoon definitely sets the stage for a better Monday!
We are here for you and we are accepting new clients (see link in bio).

✨ The time to start therapy IS now!
See the signs that therapy is working and feel the difference ✨
Sometimes progress is quiet and steady. Here are a few ways you’ll know therapy is making a difference:
💡 You notice healthier coping skills in stressful moments.
💡 You react with more calm and less overwhelm.
💡 Your relationships feel more balanced and connected.
💡 You catch negative thoughts sooner—and can shift them.
💡 You feel lighter, more hopeful, and more yourself.
⸻
🌱 Why it matters
Therapy isn’t just for crisis—it’s an investment in your emotional health. The sooner you start, the sooner you can feel the benefits. Don’t put it off until things feel “too big.” Being proactive gives you the tools to handle life’s challenges before they pile up.

Counselling: Cheaper than replacing a snowblower. 🛠️💸
If your coping plan involves snowblowers (yours or others) or basketball tricks that don’t make sense… we should probably talk first. 😅
Counselling helps you work it out before your snowblower does.
Winter is on its way and we are accepting new clients! Your snowblower and others will appreciate it. ❄️
