The Ontario Finnish Resthome Association Providing a home for seniors with resident-centered care while prioritizing quality of life. We pride ourselves in being "Homes with a Heart".

The OFRA is a non-profit charitable organization founded in Sept. 1971. It originated with a group of Finnish individuals whose goal was to build a home for seniors of Finnish & Estonian descent. While OFRA continues to honor it's Finnish & Estonian roots, over the past 4 decades it has evolved into what could be described as a microcosm of the "Canadian Experience". Today the OFRA is a mosaic of diverse cultures, a retirement community offering safe and affordable housing to all seniors in the Algoma district. We operate under the guiding principle that each resident be provided with the best environment possible within which they are able to maintain an optimum level of functioning and maximize the quality of their daily life.

The bells are ringing, Christmas is near,
Our Foundation office will pause for good cheer.
On Christmas Eve at noon we will close,
To celebrate the season with family and friends.

We’ll reopen our doors on Monday, December 29th at 8:30 a.m.,
Ready to serve and continue the good we do best!

Mrs. Wootton’s Leadership Class for creating over 100 beautiful, handmade Christmas cards for our residents at KOT and to the Bistro & Food Courses for the delicious cupcakes that added an extra bit of sweetness to the day 🧁
