Like all Canadians, we are deeply grieved by the horrific violence that occurred in Tumbler Ridge. Our deepest condolences go out to the family, friends, and community of those affected as they try to navigate a world that is fundamentally changed. We stand with our northern neighbours, and we know that they will find a way through this tragedy.

We also want to recognize the first responders and our healthcare colleagues who have acted with extraordinary skill, compassion, and resiliency. We are reminded how crucial it is to have medical teams to provide care in not only the most critical times, but also for the work and grief that will be felt long after.

We will continue to work alongside our outstanding colleagues to help ensure that there is ongoing support and health for all those affected.

PEACE RIVER - The Public Health Division in the Department of Primary and Preventative Health Services has been notified of a person with confirmed measles in the North Zone who has been in a public setting while infectious. Additional locations may be released if necessary.
