In Chinese Medicine the Lung is the organ associated with the Fall (think respiratory illness season), and the sense organ associated with the Lung is the nose.
Breathing through your nose is vital for strong qi (energy) and a strong immune system. In Chinese Medicine we say the lung controls the "Wei Qi" or Defensive Qi of the body, essentially acting like a guard against pathogens trying to enter the body.
Notice today how you are breathing and how many times you catch yourself breathing through your mouth. Can you then switch to nasal breathing and notice how it feels?
Anxiety, sleep, allergies, fatigue, depression, digestion (and more) can all be improved by nasal breathing.
