I’ve been thinking about posting something like this after hearing from so many new moms how uncomfortable they are with passing around their newborns. And as my own delivery date approaches.. This says it all!!
PLEASE read and remember next time you’re around a brand new baby and postpartum mom.. it’s best to wait for mom to pass you baby *IF* she’s comfortable doing so! 💕

Such beautiful words to describe motherhood💗

Such beautiful words to describe motherhood💗

People will try to tell you about that first moment.
Where you fall in love.
And you’ll nod, you’ll sit there in awe trying to make sense of a feeling that could never be put into words.

Because how do you explain about knowing love but not like this, how it runs through your veins. How with each inhale you’ll consume it forever from this moment forward. That your new home is wherever they are and theirs is simply you.

How do you explain this pain with a purpose, the one that pulls every ounce of strength from your body. One you never knew you had, one that waited for you.

How do you explain wanting the world to know about this perfect little person you’re staring down at, and in the same breath, wanting to protect them from it. That you’ve never felt so fierce and so vulnerable, that your arms have never felt so important.

How do you explain that months of growing them, would be the beginning of them growing you. How you can be born again, still you and someone new.

How do you explain how it feels as if you’ve known them forever. How they find your eyes like it’s all they’ve been searching for.

How do you explain how time will stand still, but never still enough to catch it.
How your legs will wobble in this new role but you’ll never stand so tall.
And how heartbeats have their own language.

That this love has a sense of melancholy, you’ll feel everything, it’s so big it hurts. It’s peaceful and it’s terrifying.

A journey where your destination travels alongside you.
A detached piece of yourself that makes you feel whole.
A colour before the bloom.

A type of magic handmade just for us.
Maybe that’s why no words could ever do it just.

🎯 I’d also like to add, do *not* expect to be waited on when visiting after a baby is born! The MOTHER needs to be waited on!
And do not ask favors of either parent during the first 6-8 weeks.. they need this time to get adjusted to their new family!

No matter if you’re close friends or family.. it’s important to be respectful and learn newborn etiquette! 🤱🏼

The person you were then is not the person you are now.

Would love to see the proof of scientific research on this, but if it is true then..... wow! 💗

Would love to see the proof of scientific research on this, but if it is true then..... wow! 💗

When I was pregnant with my daughter, her cells migrated into my bloodstream and then circled back into hers. For 41 weeks our cells merged, crossed and after she was born these cells stayed in my body, leaving a permanent imprint in my tissues, bones, brain, and skin, and will stay there for decades.

And every child I have left a similar imprint on my body. Even if a pregnancy doesn't go to full term or you have an abortion, these cells still migrate into your bloodstream.

Research has shown that if a mother's heart is injured, fetal cells will rush to the site of the injury and change into different types of cells that specialize in mending the heart! Studies have also shown cells from a fetus in a mother's brain 18 years after she gave birth! ⠀

Mothers have always intuitively felt their child, even when they are not there, now there is scientific proof that we carry them for years and years even after we gave birth to them. I know my body held and made my daughter, but she too made me. Leaving pieces of herself to forever flow through my body and heal me in ways I am still trying to understand.
