This is your reminder that your thoughts are not facts. 💚

Thoughts can be loud, convincing, and persistent — especially when you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck. But having a thought doesn’t mean it’s true, and it doesn’t mean you have to act on it.

You can use these analogies as a helpful tool to practice noticing your thoughts, creating a little space from them, and letting them pass without judgment.

If you’re experiencing uncomfortable or self-limiting thoughts, remember: they are experiences your mind creates, not definitions of who you are. With support and practice, it’s possible to relate to your thoughts differently and move forward with more compassion and clarity. 🌱

If this resonated, save this post for later or share it with someone who might need the reminder today.

Meet Samantha Sutherland, MSW, RSW ✨
Life can be messy, overwhelming, and full of unknowns. Navigating it alone can feel like too much. Samantha understands how big these challenges can feel, not just for adults, but especially for children and youth who are still learning how to make sense of their inner world. She believes that everyone deserves a space where their emotions feel safe, supported, and understood.

With over a decade of frontline social work experience supporting individuals and families through domestic violence, substance use, mental health challenges, and complex high-risk situations, Samantha brings steady, compassionate care to every session. She works with children, teens, adults, and families, creating a nurturing environment where each person can explore their feelings, learn coping skills, and build emotional resilience at a pace that feels right for them.

Samantha integrates age-appropriate techniques such as play therapy, art, and talk therapy to help clients express themselves in ways that feel natural and empowering. Whether someone is processing trauma, navigating big transitions, or learning to regulate emotions, she walks alongside them with warmth, patience, and deep clinical skill.

Samantha believes that growth becomes possible when we feel truly seen and supported. If you or your loved one is ready to take the first step toward greater balance, connection, and emotional well-being, she’s here to help. 🌱

Say hello to our newest Student Counsellor: Meghan! 👋

"I am a student therapist completing my Master of Counselling Psychology through City University of Seattle in Edmonton. My work is grounded in Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), approaches that help clients make sense of their stories, understand their emotional patterns, and move toward deeper alignment with their values. I also bring extensive experience working with children and teens in trauma settings, which has shaped my ability to meet clients with patience and attunement in moments of emotional difficulty."

The answers aren’t outside of you. They’re within you. Together, we’ll bring them forward so you can step into a life that feels aligned and true to you. 💚

That’s the heart of therapy at Little Tree Pyschology. There’s no rushing your story, no pressure to be anywhere other than where you are. Healing unfolds in its own time, and we’re here to meet you with steady support, gentle guidance, and a space that adjusts to you.

Don't forget to take care of yourself this holiday season! 💚

As the month fills up with plans, expectations, and to-dos, remember to make space for the things that truly refill you. Slow mornings. Quiet cups of tea. Fresh air. Connection with people who feel safe. Moments where you can breathe a little deeper and soften your shoulders.

Your needs matter, too. Let this be a gentle reminder that tending to your own well-being isn’t selfish, it’s nurturing the roots you grow from.

If you’re feeling stretched thin or unsure where to start, our therapists are here to support you with care that meets you exactly where you’re at.

EMDR therapy is a gentle, evidence-based approach that helps the brain process painful memories in a new, more adaptive way. 🌿

Using bilateral stimulation—like guided eye movements, tapping, or sound—EMDR supports the mind in reconnecting with safety, clarity, and emotional balance.

Many clients find EMDR helpful for:
• Trauma and PTSD
• Anxiety and stress
• Negative self-beliefs
• Grief and loss
• Emotional overwhelm
• Past experiences that still feel “stuck”

At Little Tree, we offer EMDR as part of a collaborative, client-centered approach to healing. If you’re curious about whether it might be a good fit, you’re welcome to reach out or explore more on our website.

You don’t have to navigate hard experiences alone. 🌱

As the colder months roll in, supporting your mental wellness can start with simple, grounding habits. 🌿✨

🌞 Get outside for fresh air and sunlight when you can.
🏃‍♀️ Keep a consistent movement routine to lift your mood.
🤝 Stay connected with friends and family.
☕ Embrace cozy moments: a good book, warm drinks, soft blankets.
🎯 Set small goals and celebrate each win along the way.

Little steps can make this season feel lighter, warmer, and more supportive. 💛

Meet Graham Hall, CCC ✨

Graham’s counselling approach is rooted in trauma-informed principles and shaped under the mentorship of one of Canada’s leading Clinical Traumatologists. He understands that no two people experience their lives — or their pain — in the same way. Because of this, Graham tailors therapy to each individual, drawing from humanistic, emotionally focused, CBT, and parts-work approaches to meet clients in the language their nervous system speaks.

Graham especially enjoys supporting adults at meaningful transition points — those established in their careers (50+) and those still uncovering their strengths and “superpowers” (18–30). These seasons often hold deep potential for growth, healing, and reconnection with one’s purpose.

His areas of focus include:
🌿 Trauma & PTSD
🔥 Anger & Sensitivity
💛 Depression & Anxiety
🕊️ Grief & Loss
✨ Life Purpose & Performance
🌱 Perfectionism
🔗 Relational Enmeshment & Engagement

Graham brings not only clinical skill, but also extensive personal experience in understanding, relating to, and advocating for Indigenous peoples navigating systemic injustices and intergenerational trauma. His work is grounded, compassionate, and deeply human.

If you’re feeling the pull to grow, heal, or repattern the systems within you, Graham is now accepting new clients and would be honoured to walk alongside you.

Fidget toys aren’t just a trend! They can be a meaningful tool for supporting your mental health. ✨

They offer a quiet, non-disruptive outlet for restless energy, helping the mind settle and the body feel grounded. Many people find that they reduce stress and anxiety, support emotional regulation through gentle sensory input, and even improve focus when things feel overwhelming.

If you’ve been feeling scattered or on edge, small tools like this can make everyday moments more manageable.

And if you’re curious about what might help you feel more regulated, therapy can be a great place to explore what works for you.
