When we’re running on little sleep, everything feels harder.
Our patience wears thin, emotions feel heavier, and even small challenges can feel overwhelming.

Getting enough rest isn’t just about feeling less tired, it’s about giving your mind the space it needs to process, heal, and recharge. 💚

At Little Tree Psychology, we know that quality sleep plays a big role in your overall mental health.

If you’ve been feeling more anxious, down, or disconnected lately, take a moment to check in with your sleep. Sometimes, improving rest is the first gentle step toward feeling more balanced and grounded. 🌙

✨ Your mind deserves rest. Not as a just reward, but as a part of caring for yourself.

As the colder months settle in, it’s easy to feel your mood dip a little — but small, intentional habits can make a big difference. 🌿✨

Take time each day to practice gratitude and notice what you’re thankful for.

Keep your space bright, cozy, and welcoming — light therapy can help lift your spirits.

Try something new or creative to bring joy into your routine.

And remember to stay mindful and present, even in the quiet moments.

Your mental health matters all year long. What’s one thing that helps you stay positive through the winter?

As the seasons shift, so can you. This month, give yourself permission to pause, breathe, and truly show up for yourself—mind, body, and heart.

November invites us to slow down and turn inward. It’s a gentle reminder that self-care isn’t selfish, it’s necessary. Take time to rest, journal, walk in nature, or simply check in with how you’re feeling. Small moments of reflection can make a big difference in your mental wellness. 🌿

As the days get shorter and life feels busier, remember: growth also happens in stillness. Choose to nurture yourself, set mindful intentions, and create space for calm.

You deserve to feel grounded, balanced, and cared for.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is one of the most effective and evidence-based approaches to improving mental health.

Imagine your mind as a garden: CBT helps you identify and “weed out” unhelpful thoughts while planting seeds of positivity, resilience, and self-compassion. 🌷

By learning to challenge distorted thinking patterns and adopt healthier beliefs, CBT equips you with practical tools to manage anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges.

At Little Tree Psychology, we often integrate CBT techniques into treatment plans to help clients develop emotional balance and self-awareness in everyday life.

Whether you’re working on self-confidence, navigating stress, or strengthening relationships, CBT offers a proactive path toward lasting change and personal growth. 💚

At Little Tree Psychology, we’re here to support you through life’s challenges with care and compassion. Reach out or visit our website to book an appointment today.

We know that the recent teacher strike has been incredibly challenging — for our teachers, parents, and kids. ❤️

At Little Tree Psychology, we want to acknowledge how deeply this has affected our community. Teachers give so much of themselves to nurture and guide our children, and we stand firmly beside them through this difficult time.

We also recognize how stressful this season has been for families. When routines change and emotions run high, it’s normal to feel stretched thin. That’s where we come in!

Our team offers:
✨ Therapy for children, teens, and adults
✨ Parenting consultations to help you reconnect as a family
✨ Support for managing stress, emotions, and transitions

Whether you’re a teacher, a parent, or someone needing a little extra support right now, we’re here to help you find calm, clarity, and connection again. 💚

📞 Reach out anytime. We’re always happy to support you and our Alberta community.

Meet the Team: Hanna McGee ✨

Are you feeling completely stuck and overwhelmed — or simply looking for a little extra support and comfort?
Hanna believes that entering therapy, at any stage of life, is a brave and meaningful step. She offers a warm, accepting space where you can show up as yourself and find clarity, growth, and healing on your own terms. 🌿

Hanna’s approach is grounded in the belief that every person has the capacity and resilience to overcome life’s challenges. She draws on a variety of therapeutic modalities to create a holistic, collaborative experience where clients feel safe, supported, and truly heard.

Hanna is currently a Counselling Student working toward a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University. Over the past three years, she has worked at a non-profit centre supporting youth, teens, and adults through education around consent, communication, and boundaries.

Hanna supports clients through a wide range of concerns including:
💚 Domestic violence and abuse

✨ This is your gentle reminder to give yourself permission to rest this weekend. ✨

Rest is not a weakness. It’s how your mind and body heal, recover, and recharge. Taking time to slow down allows you to reconnect with yourself and nurture your emotional well-being.

You are worthy of care, compassion, and peace. In rest, you find the strength to rise again: stronger, calmer, and more grounded than before. 🌿

Take a moment to check in with yourself today. ✨

We often move through our days on autopilot — juggling work, family, responsibilities, and endless to-do lists. In the middle of it all, it’s easy to lose touch with how we’re really feeling. Taking a few mindful minutes to pause, breathe, and reflect can do wonders for your mental health and emotional well-being. 💚

Here are a few gentle questions to guide your check-in today:

1️⃣ How am I feeling today — physically, mentally, and emotionally? 😁😀🤨😥😭
Sometimes we don’t realize how much we’re carrying until we stop to notice it. Naming your emotions can be the first step toward understanding what you need.

2️⃣ Have I been nourishing my body with enough water and healthy food this week? 🍝🚰
Small acts of care — like eating regular meals, drinking enough water, or choosing one nourishing snack can have a big impact on your mood and energy levels.

3️⃣ Am I prioritizing rest, or do I need to slow down to prevent burnout? 🛌
Rest isn’t a reward; it’s a necessity. Whether it’s taking a short walk, setting boundaries, or simply saying no, your body and mind both need space to recharge.

4️⃣ What is one (or more) thing that has brought me joy this week? ☀💚
Maybe it was a laugh with a friend, a quiet morning coffee, or time spent outdoors. These moments of joy are reminders that even in stressful weeks, there is room for lightness and connection.

💭 Remember: taking time to check in with yourself isn’t selfish: it’s essential. When you care for your mind and body, you build resilience, clarity, and balance that support you through whatever the week brings. 🌱

If this message resonated with you, share it with someone who might need the same reminder today. 💫

This World Food Day, we’re celebrating the powerful connection between food and mental health 🥗✨

When stress levels rise, what you eat can make a real difference. Nourishing your body with the right foods helps support emotional balance, energy, and focus.

Here are some additional mood-boosting options to keep in mind:
🍫 Dark chocolate – rich in antioxidants that promote calm and focus
🐟 Salmon – packed with omega-3s to reduce anxiety
🍓 Berries – high in vitamin C to combat stress hormones
🌿 Leafy greens – rich in magnesium to help you relax
🍵 Green tea – soothing and full of L-theanine for calm alertness

Remember, food is more than fuel.. it’s part of caring for your mind and body.

Each of us moves through the world on a path uniquely our own, filled with detours, lessons, and moments of growth. Some chapters come easily, while others test our resilience.

You’ll stumble. You’ll course-correct. And you’ll keep going, learning to adapt and define success in your own way. 🚘✨

Remember: your progress doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s. Every small step, every pause, every pivot is part of the journey.
