Thought I’d bring this up again as I have had many people ask questions with issues that CAN be prevented!!!
ATTENTION!!..... yes you in the gym who watches everyone else to see how to “get things done!” How to “crush some goals!!” “GET SOME GAINS!”...... or simply, you’re new and really have no idea as to what and why. PLEASE PLEASE flip through these pics and I ask you, what’s wrong with these? Some of them you may be thinking, one or two may not particularly be all that bad, or a waste. But I assure you, many of these have ZERO place in a proper routine, some, would get you kicked off the machine if I saw you do them and I was waiting for it for it’s ACTUAL intended purpose, only a few need a tweak for a better protocol.
Sure, go ahead and find things to do from a mag, a video, a gym guru...., whatever. Ask yourself these 3 things:
*do I know all body parts involved
*do I know all musculature and tissues involved and their job
*do I know what job that body part does for me in a given exercise whether it’s primary, secondary or stabilizing and support
You should know these things to be able to be active injury free, and with reduced risk. IF you know all of these, and IF you can assess the exercise and if they are a benefit to you with knowing your posture and how that relates ..... then these below should be common sense. If not, and you’re still either doing these out of not knowing, not realizing and watching others do them regardless if they look FIT, wanting to use equipment that does not benefit you, then YOU need to see ME.
