CranioSacral Therapy is a light-touch approach that
has a direct impact on the overall nervous system.
The nervous system registers and sends signals
when the body is in dysfunction, causing the person
to feel pain. Through gentle touch, generally no
greater than five grams, or the weight of a nickel, the
practitioner’s touch interacts with the client’s
nervous system.

Cupping therapy may leave temporary pink, red, or purple marks on the skin. This is a normal response to the suction of the cups bringing blood to the surface, and they will typically fade within a week.

Many people find myofascial cupping extremely relaxing and a valuable addition to massage therapy to help alleviate musculoskeletal tension.

With deep-tissue, stationary techniques, you may feel a temporary stinging or burning sensation as the skin and connective tissues stretch. However, you should always let your practitioner know if something feels painful or uncomfortable during treatment.

Cupping should only be performed by a trained practitioner who is a member of a professional association like the NHPC. Find an NHPC practitioner in your area using our member directory: https://www.nhpcanada.org/member-directory

Big milestone today!

My Manual Osteopathy diploma arrived and I’m so excited to officially have it in hand.

Even though I’ve been practicing and integrating osteopathic techniques for about a year, there is always more to learn — and I’m looking forward to continuing to explore this approach to supporting the body and nervous system.

Grateful for the journey so far and excited for what’s ahead.

Today is world sleep day!

Are you someone that struggles with sleep? You’re not alone! Massage and Osteopathy can help!

Treatment can:
• Reduce stress hormones
• Relax tight muscles and fascia
• Improve circulation
• Support the parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) nervous system

When the body feels safe and relaxed, it’s much easier to fall asleep and stay asleep.

If poor sleep is affecting your energy, focus, or recovery, treatment may help restore balance.

What’s the difference between Massage Therapy and Manual Osteopathy?

Both treatments can help with pain, tension, and mobility, but they approach the body a little differently.

Massage Therapy
Massage focuses primarily on muscles and soft tissues. It’s great for relieving muscle tension, improving circulation, and helping the body relax.

Manual Osteopathy
Manual osteopathy looks at the body as a whole system. Instead of only focusing on one tight area, treatment considers how joints, fascia, organs, fluids, and the nervous system all work together.

Techniques may include:
• Gentle joint mobilization
• Myofascial release
• Craniosacral therapy
• Visceral (organ) mobility work
• Lymphatic drainage techniques to help support fluid movement and reduce congestion in the tissues

The goal is to restore balance, movement, and circulation throughout the body, which can help with many types of ongoing or recurring issues.

Many clients benefit from a combination of massage therapy and osteopathic techniques, depending on what their body needs that day.

If you’re curious whether this approach might help with something you’ve been dealing with, feel free to reach out.
